Adult Ministries

Since we’re all at different places along our faith journeys, and we have different ways of learning and growing; you’ll find a variety of adult groups at Zion to help you along the way!

Sunday Mornings

Resumes 9/18/24

Men’s Chat- This group includes single dads all the way to grandfathers for a time of guided conversation and prayer, as a place for support and growth. This group has a time of checking-in, then conversations guided by a variety of devotions/authors. This group meets in the Church Office (just off the Gathering Space).

Women’s Chat – This group started as a group of moms supporting one another, but now is a group for all women to connect over conversation as a place for support and encouragement. This group focuses on checking-in, providing listening ears, support and prayer. This group meets in the Seim Meeting room (next to Holy Grounds Cafe).

Adult Class – This group is for all adults, in any place of their faith journey. This class encourages growth through increasing knowledge. Whether it be watching a video series, discussing a current event, or a mini-series taught by the Pastor; this class provides variety to help you grow in wisdom and faith. This group meets in the Library (by the stage and Holy Grounds Cafe).

Regardless of your age, even as we grow in years, our faith continues to be formed, by what we learn, and what we experience.

Thursday Bible Study

  • Every Thursday you’re invited to join our weekly “Retiree’s Bible Study,” led by retired pastor, Rev. Steve Kimpel. Bring a brown bag lunch at 11:30, Study begins at 12:00. This group meets in Mullen Hall. Contact the Church Office office@zionelc.org for additional info, or current study themes.

COMING FALL 2024: New Evening Bible Study

  • Due to popular demand, soon we will be starting a new Bible Study for those who work or for other reasons are unable to make the Thursday Bible Study. We will utilize technology, as we know physically making it to the church can be a challenge with everything else going on. More details soon. Contact Pastor Adam pastor@zionelc.org for more info.

Older Adult Ministries (Retirees)

Because our faith is formed throughout the entirety of our lives, and because it is important to stay connected and be in community, especially as we age, the Retirees Group meets monthly for a lunch and guest speaker. They also travel around the Dayton area (monthly/quarterly). You can contact the Church Office for a current schedule of events: office@zionelc.org.
